Randy Coppersmith is the originator of Words Matter and a former journalist and high-tech corporate CEO. His column has appeared in The Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel, The Springfield (MO) Daily News, and The Tampa Tribune. He has also written for USA Today, The Associated Press, The Gannett News Service and a variety of business and corporate magazines and publications. He lives in 42 miles from the White House in Northern Virginia with his wife, Elizabeth, their daughter Annabelle.

Dennis Richardson is a former newspaper journalist with more than 40 years experience as a general assignment reporter, copy editor, sports writer, and senior special sections writer for the Suburban News Journals in St. Louis, the Springfield (MO) Daily News, and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale. He is a graduate of the University of Missouri School of Journalism. He lives in Central Florida, outside Orlando.

Bob Hagan is a Licensed Mortgage broker and President of Hagan Mortgage Associates, Inc. in Brandon, FL. He has been in the residential mortgage industry for 40 years, the last 21, at his own firm. He is a graduate of the University of South Florida. He lives in eastern Hillsborough County, outside of Tampa, FL, with his wife Linda.

Mike Varga is an executive in the engineering services business with significant aerospace experience.  He was a founder and CEO of a small business that was acquired in early 2016. Besides golf, his hobby for the last two years has been providing his musings in a website for close friends and family.   He has two daughters and three grandchildren. He lives with his wife, Yvonne, 11 miles from the Gulf of Mexico.

Sarah Spicehandler has been a guest writer for High Times Magazine, a history teacher in New York City for grades 6-12, and an administrative assistant in law, financial securities, education and consulting. For the last 9 years, she has worked in the non-profit world in New York City, working currently at Lighthouse Guild International, Inc.; a non-profit healthcare organization providing integrated vision and health services for the blind and visually impaired. Sarah lives in New York, with her husband, Yoav.

Garrett A. Foster is an Emmy Award-winning writer for his work on the daytime drama Guiding Light. Garrett, who graduated from Vassar College with a bachelor’s in English, also served as Editor-in-Chief of Soap Opera Magazine and as Special Sections Manager/Editor at both The Palm Beach Post and The Fort Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel newspapers. An entrepreneur at heart, Garrett’s professional experience also includes the creation of two successful small businesses: Key West Crossing, an ice cream and tropical gift shop; and Picasso’s Paint-Your-Own Pottery Studio. He lives in South Florida and is a two-time cancer survivor.
Bill Bellows teaches business at American University in Washington, DC. He lives on a horse farm in Lincoln, VA with his wife and two teenaged sons, Colin and Julian. He is a former entrepreneur and journalist for several newspapers and a freelance magazine writer.
